Kryolan Gelafix Skin is a gelatine based 3D special fx gel that is friendly to the skin and easy to apply. It is designed for creation of skin anomalies, especially for the simulation of severe burn injuries. If cleaned properly after application, it may be removed, melted an reused many times.
Gelafix Skin is breathable and is comfortable for the actor to wear. It is also used in fashion and avant-garde make-up for creative skin applications, such as artificial tears or 3D ornaments. Also includes an additional applicator nozzle which serves as a working aid because the material in the lid can set quickly if cool. Simply replace the lid and melt the material again. Just put the 'clogged' lid in the hot water for a moment to get it working again.
Gelafix Skin is first heated in the supplied bottle in a water bath or just very short-time in a microwave until the material has melted. Pour the contents onto a plate or blending palette, check the temperature of the material and then apply it quickly to the skin with a spatula. After drying, lightly apply a translucent setting powder and then use a greasepaint to provide the required design and once again set with powder. The moist effect of a fresh burn wound can be simulated by using a transparent jelly. To remove simply peel from the skin and use plenty of warm water to rinse.
Always unscrew the lid before heating in a water bath or microwave. In a 1000w microwave heat in short bursts of 2-3 seconds at a time until the product has liquefied. Do not boil, as it may destroy the product.
