This airbrush class is perfect for beginners to get a good grounding in the basics of the technical and practical of working with an airbrush.
Airbrush is one of those tools that can completely change how you work - once you understand how to control it.
This class is a focused introduction to airbrush technique and handling, designed to give you a solid grounding so you can confidently start using (and understanding) your airbrush, whatever you want to apply it to.
Whether you're working in makeup, body art, SFX, model painting, textiles, or just curious to try it — the core techniques are the same.
What you’ll learn
- Working with dual action airbrushes (and how they differ from single action)
- Basic control: air vs paint, pressure, distance, and layering
- Developing accuracy through line work and spray control exercises
- Working with stencils alongside freehand control
- Understanding different paint types and how they behave (water-based, alcohol-based, and more)
- Mixing and adjusting colours for practical use
- How to troubleshoot common issues like clogging and inconsistent spray
(and how to clean and maintain your airbrush without losing the will to live)
