Bolt's #3 Firm Liner brush is perfect for line work and swirls and twirls.
What materials are used in this brush?
Bolt Brushes are made with wooden handles and multi-diameter synthetic bristles.
What are the dimensions of this product?
This brush is 6 and 1/4" long from tip to end. The base of the bristles is approximately a little more than 1/16" in a diameter and the bristles are 5/8" long. The handles are approximately 3/16" in diameter Neon orange handles that are UV reactive and have a glossy paint job!
How to use it?
Get your brush wet, wipe the end of it against the edge of your water container, rub against your dry cake until you create a creamy consistency and then paint on the face/body.
What is this brush best for?
The new FIRM Bristles are great for painters that are more heavy handed and need more resistance from their brush. Because the bristles are firmer they require a little bit more water and paint than the medium bounce bristles of our original brushes. They are also easier to rinse off since they don't hold on to a lot of paint. We strive to make the best possible brush for each kind of painter and we hope that this new line of FIRM brushes will be the solution that many have been waiting for. This Bolt face painting brush is ideal for making small/thin swirls and teardrops as well as highly detailed line work.
What else should I know about Bolt Brushes?
Because they are made out of synthetic sable bristles, no animals were hurt for the production of these brushes. These brushes were designed by Jest Paint and assembled in the USA with parts from Thailand.
We have been working hard to design a set of brushes that we hope every painter will enjoy using. From choosing the right handle size to the length and material of the bristles the process was not easy. Finally, we were happy with the overall design and look of each Bolt Brush.
The Bolt Stroke brushes have short bristles, making it an easy to control flat brush.
Our Liner (round) brushes have sharp tips and longer bristles allows for a nice flow when making swirls and twirls and teardrops. They have a semi-medium bounce (not too stiff not too soft). The Blooming brushes allow you to make perfect petals every time. We now have the FIRM line for those of you who like stiffer bristles. Beyond teardrops and swirls, if you are looking for a brush to paint detailed cheek art, please check out our new Crisp line!
All of the brushes have synthetic bristles (no animals were harmed to make the brushes), and short shiny painted wooden handles. All wood comes from managed national wood reforestation programs, and our manufacturer is involved with non profit organizations that fight to protect endangered species, as well as organizations that provide free school materials to kids in need. Bolt Brushes are assembled in the USA using components from Thailand, and the handles are painted with non-toxic UV reactive paint, so that you can easily find your brushes while working at Black Light parties! Please take note:
**The UV orange paint may change to different shades of oranges and yellows when in contact with direct sunlight.
Bolt Brushes are handmade and all measurements are approximate, the actual width may vary a little, but you, as the artist are in control of the width of your strokes by the amount of pressure you put on the bristles while painting. Happy painting!
